For Property Managers
How payments work
No payment processing happens on the platform — here's exactly how money flows between you and contractors.
BidMyCommunity is not a payment processor. We don't hold funds, charge your card, or take a cut of project payments. Money moves directly between you and the contractor — exactly like any other vendor relationship.
What this means for managers
- You never get charged by BidMyCommunity. Not for posting, not for awarding, not for messaging.
- You pay the contractor the way you'd pay any vendor — check, ACH, wire, whatever your community normally uses.
- The 2.5% platform fee is charged to the contractor, not you. You never see it on an invoice.
When does the contractor pay BidMyCommunity?
Only after they win a project. Specifically:
- You award a project
- BidMyCommunity invoices the contractor for 2.5% of the awarded bid amount
- The contractor pays BidMyCommunity directly
- You and the contractor handle the actual project payments separately
This is entirely between BidMyCommunity and the contractor. It doesn't affect your billing, contract, or relationship.
You'll never see a charge from BidMyCommunity. If anyone ever asks a community manager to pay BidMyCommunity for anything — posting, awarding, premium features — it's not us. Report it to support@bidmycommunity.com.
Documenting payments
The platform stores a record of:
- The awarded bid amount
- The contract you upload
- Any change orders, invoices, or receipts you attach to the project
That's your paper trail. If you need to share it with your board, treasurer, or auditor, just download the project document bundle.
Common questions
What if I dispute the work?
That's between you and the contractor. BidMyCommunity isn't a party to your contract and doesn't arbitrate disputes. The platform's role ends at award.
Can I pay multiple invoices through BidMyCommunity?
No — we don't process any payments. Use whatever payment system your community already uses for vendors.
Will adding a contractor's bank info to the platform be necessary?
No. Contractors don't share their bank info with the platform. You exchange payment details directly with the contractor after awarding.
