The legal docs in plain English.

Terms of Service

The full terms are at Terms of Service. The relevant bits:

  • BidMyCommunity is a marketplace, not a party to any contract between managers and contractors
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of your profile, bids, and project descriptions
  • You agree not to use the platform to defraud, harass, or spam anyone
  • We can suspend accounts that violate the terms — usually after a warning, but not always

Privacy

We collect what you give us (account info, project content, messages) and what your browser sends (basic analytics). We don't sell your data. We share with service providers (hosting, email, payments) only as needed to run the platform.

Specifically:

  • We don't sell your email address
  • We don't sell your project data
  • We don't share who bid what with other contractors
  • We don't share manager identities with contractors who haven't been engaged

If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we're legally required to retain records (e.g. tax records).

Payment terms (for contractors)

The platform fee structure:

  • 2.5% of the awarded bid amount, charged to the contractor when a manager awards them a project
  • Invoiced on award day, due within 30 days
  • Refunded in full if the award is withdrawn before work starts
  • Adjusted down if work scope is reduced after award (contact support)
  • Not refunded if you walk away after starting the work

We never charge managers anything. If a manager ever sees a charge from BidMyCommunity, it's not us — report it to support immediately.

How to read the full docs

  • Terms of Service
  • Privacy policy: linked from the footer of every page
  • Payment terms: included in your contractor onboarding and visible in your billing dashboard

Changes

We change the terms occasionally. When that happens you'll get an email and a banner in your dashboard. The current version always lives at the URLs above with a "last updated" date at the top.
